What is Simple Present Tense?

The Simple Present Tense is used to talk about things that happen every day, things that are always true, or things we like or do regularly.

Examples:

I eat breakfast every morning. ๐Ÿณ

She plays with her friends after school. โšฝ

The sun rises in the east. ๐ŸŒ…

Notice how the verb changes for he, she, it? We usually add -s or -es.

    โœ… How to Make Simple Present Sentences

    1. For I, You, We, They:

    Verb stays the same

    I like ice cream. ๐Ÿฆ

    They play in the park. ๐Ÿ›

    2. For He, She, It:

    Add -s or -es

    He likes ice cream. ๐Ÿฆ

    She plays in the park. ๐Ÿ›

    Tip: If the verb ends in -ch, -sh, -x, -s, or -o, add -es.

    He watches TV. ๐Ÿ“บ

    She goes to school. ๐Ÿซ

      Complete the sentence with the correct form of the verb in brackets.

      Activity 2: Guess the Habit

        Some verbs are special and do not need -s for he, she, it. These are called irregular verbs.
